Headaches Plaguing Your Life?
Many people in this world today are plagued by headaches. While those that suffer with them on a constant basis know how bad they can get. Friends and family will often scoff when you offer an excuse of a headache for not attending an event. We have created this article to create awareness in the types of headaches as well as how severe they can become.

We have all heard the line "not tonight, dear, I have a headache" and that has been used as a joke not only for the reluctant spouse but for the headache sufferer. It is estimated that over 200 million people suffer from headaches. You may notice I've used the word suffer on multiple occasions already because it is very important to note how bad some of these can get.

Most Common Types Of Headaches

Tension - This is usually a headache cause by tension, stress, or depression. These can last for very long periods of time or come back often. The pain of the actual headache seems to be focused on the temple, forehead and back of the neck. The best way to combat these headaches is to combat what causes them. Deal with the stress, tension or depression with medications or relaxation techniques.

Cluster- These headaches were once thought to be in the migraine family. Pain usually begins around one eye often described as some sticking a screwdriver in that eye. That eye will often tear up and the nose may begin to run. This burning and throbbing will usually stay to one side but radiate to the temple and forehead. For treatments it is best to ask your Doctor, no over the counter medication has shown to work to alleviate or prevent pain.

Migraine-These headaches are cause by swelling of arteries around your skull. This is why the headaches are often precursored "Auras" the seeing of tracers or tunnel vision. This is said to be caused by those arteries pressing against areas of the brain. Caffeine, acetaminophen and aspirin are said to help in that combination but for severe sufferers we highly recommend seeing a Doctor.

Sinus-These are caused from the inability of your sinuses from draining. True sinus headaches will appear on X-rays. Analgesics will help only if they are true sinus headaches.

Rebound- These are caused from over use of the OTC's. Remember go easy on these and you should not have problem.
